We created Uncanny Object to publish a single short book of poems, but we have zero self control. So, now we’re a publishing house, offering books we enjoy and providing support for like minded folks.
What does this mean? It means ISBNs, manuscript support, publishing, marketing, online selling and distribution at low to no cost to the author. WE ARE NOT EXPERTS OR PROFESSIONALS. This is fun for us; so for the time being we’re footing the bills in exchange for experience. If that sounds like something you’re into, reach out!
We hope you enjoy our offerings. It’s been a great pleasure bringing them to life. Hopefully there are many more to come.

We are open to anything! While our first titles are all poetry, we have plans for fiction, philosophy, and maybe some zine compilations in 2027. Nothing is out of the question. Try us.

We’re not looking for current events commentary, political screeds, super short single zines, or anything that could pass for online discourse. Being political doesn’t disqualify a project, but hopefully it’s a surprising or artistic take.

We have no idea. This is something we do in our spare time. That said, we’re pretty motivated, so it really depends on the author’s goals and involvement as well as the size/scope of the project. Let’s say a few weeks to six months plus.

Right now we’re shooting for $0. The tools we use are free or borrowed from friends. We are willing to cover US ISBN fees and carry minimal physical inventory as well. The author would be charged the cost for physical copies (and shipping). This is all obviously dependent on the project.

All our titles will be made available on our site for purchase, physical copies and downloads. We’re split between the US and Canada so shipping to either isn’t an issue. We offer US ISBNs, so further distribution channels for retailers, online and brick and mortar, is at the discretion of the author. If you’re in the UK/EU and want to help distribute, let us know!
